And always the air moves in to fill the spaces my body’s been

This is the fifth embroidery of the series OTHERWISE WE ARE LOST, inspired by Pina Bausch – a dancer and choreographer I profoundly admire. I named this piece “AND ALWAYS THE AIR MOVES IN TO FILL THE SPACES WHERE MY BODY’S BEEN”. This is a verse of a beautiful poem written by Mark Strand in 1979. The poem is part of the collection, in a way.
