Maria Descalça is a brand of bags, made in an ethical and sustainable way, created by Marisa Almeida.

The concept is to recycle plastic bags that are at the end of their life, and in an innovative way join the traditional – Manual Weaving – with the modern, transforming each piece into a unique product.

The lightness of the material and the love with which each piece is made gives them the shine they deserve.

She brings together with care and passion: strips of used plastic bags, thread, torn cotton fabrics, and some fancy ribbons. With them they produce cloths that are transformed into bags, clutches, tablecloths, paths, wall panels, with stitching.
